Mathew (Mat) Adams’ current role is as a Director of Advanced R&D at Adeia, where he is focused on creating foundational technologies that will enable the future of how we will create, deliver, and consume media. This continues a 30 plus year career of pushing the limits of technology and constantly innovating to not just solve technical challenges but to thoroughly understand the core business problems to provide the best possible solution. Mat spent 5 years managing an Emerging Technology team for Walt Disney Parks focusing on delivering patented and award winning cutting edge experiences for park guests delivering first to market solutions in AR/VR, computer vision and machine learning. Mat began his career in military R&D for DARPA funded startups and his eclectic career path has had him doing everything from creating children’s educational games for Sesame Street to building out emerging technology teams in the finance, advertising, and insurance industries focusing on everything from AR/VR, facial recognition and authentication solutions, cloud computing, machine learning, chatbots, large language models and Intelligent document processing.
