Managing Director Mark Midle

Mark is a Managing Director at Lateral, where his primary responsibilities include managing the investment team, leading new deal opportunities, performing due diligence, and overseeing portfolio companies.

Before joining Lateral in 2024, Mark was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where for nearly a decade he led investments in enterprise software and technology-enabled business services companies for Goldman Sachs Growth Equity. During its 20-year history, Goldman Sachs Growth Equity has invested over $13.2 billion into private, growth-stage companies globally, and more than 70 of its portfolio companies have completed an IPO.

During his investing career, Mark has served at the Board level of more than twenty private and public companies across the technology, software, services, media, and consumer industries. Before joining Goldman Sachs Growth Equity, Mark was a private equity and growth investor at Bain Capital, Great Hill Partners, and The Blackstone Group. Earlier in his career, Mark worked at McKinsey and Morgan Stanley.

Mark received an M.B.A. with Honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. On weekends, Mark is an avid golfer and skier, and he loves nothing more than spending time on the greens or the slopes with his wife and three sons.
