Growing middle market businesses often need external capital to expand their operations. We specialize in providing growth capital for a company’s acceleration phases – such as building a new plant, launching a new product or expanding into new areas. These are funding needs that don’t fit well with today’s commercial bank lending models.
It used to be that you could go to the local bank to get a loan and they were willing to take a highly customized view on your company and its growth needs. Today banks are looking for a lengthy history of consistent profitability and prefer lending to larger companies where they can resell the loan as opposed to focusing in on the middle market. We are addressing the void in access to capital for growing mid-sized businesses with less than $100 million in revenues.
We don’t invest in startups. We are looking for companies that have proven models and history, with at least $10 million in revenue, $1-10 million in annual operating profit and requirements for $5 million to $25 million in new capital to fund a specific growth plan. We prefer businesses that have fixed assets, machinery and equipment or other collateral in the form of contracts or recurring revenue.
